The places we live, work, learn and play all have a crucial role in influencing our activity levels.
Active Together work to support partners across Leicestershire Leicester and Rutland in developing increasingly active places for the benefit of our communities.
Healthy Place Making
Supporting health and physical activity through the design of the built and natural environment.
The Healthy Place Making website, developed by Active Together in collaboration with a range of local partners, helps planning authorities, developers and others consider how the design of homes, towns and neighbourhoods can positively impact on people's health and levels of physical activity.
Healthy Place Making is here to help shift the dial. To promote content that assists us in the development of healthy places.
To help users – planners, developers, designers, and a range of other professionals – to consider how policy and practice can positively influence health.
To help us all better understand the impact of the built and natural environment on our wellbeing, and explore opportunities to make our places healthier.

Explore ideas and content to build healthier places for our residents to live, work, travel and play.
Access to Schools
Working with schools and school sport networks to maximise the use and impact of school sports facilities.
Schools can provide fantastic hubs of sport and physical activity, with potential to deliver significant benefit to pupils, their families and the wider community.
We can provide schools with support and guidance based on local demand for activity, operational models and examples of best practice to help the development of sport and physical activity programmes on school sites.
Facility Development Project Support
Access to appropriate facilities is fundamental to the delivery of sport and physical activity.
We support a variety of projects across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland by working with partners to connect their projects to other local clubs and organisations, or by helping with identifying funding and relevant design guidance. We're keen to hear from clubs and organisations embarking on facility development projects to consider how we can offer assistance.
