Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland pupils were invited to design a relay Baton inspired by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland pupils were recently invited to design a relay Baton inspired by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

One winner was selected from each School Sport & Physical Activity (SSPAN) area (10 in total), with the Baton design then being produced 3 times:

  • 1 for the winning individual to keep.
  • 1 for the winning individual's School.
  • 1 to be relayed around Schools in their SSPAN area.
  • Winning designs celebrated at the School Games Summer Festival in June.

Designs were encouraged to incorporate some of the following aspects:

  • The Commonwealth Games Values (Humanity, Destiny & Equality)

  • Things that represent your school or where you live
  • What does the Count/area you live in mean to you or those around you?
