This course is aimed anyone involved in sport, physical activity that may need to administer emergency first aid. It is also suitable for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities. This course will take place on Saturday 6th July 2024, from 09:30am - 4.30pm. This will take place at The Royal College for the Blind (The Point 4 Centre), Venns Lane, Hereford, HR1 1DT. This course is for people aged 16+ (age at the time of the course).

Course details:

This course will take place on Saturday 6th July 2024, 9:30am - 16:30pm (includes a lunch break).

Deadline for bookings is 4pm on Wednesday 19th June 2024.

Delivery will be with accredited instructor, Simon.

Minimum age requirement: 16+
Please note, learners who are aged between 16-17 years will require a chaperone, who is not attending the course. Chaperones will not receive a certificate of attendance, Please see UK Coaching chaperone guidelines here as an example of the chaperone expectations.

Cost: This course is valued at approximately £95, and on this occasion has been fully subsidised by Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire are subsidising the cost of this course as an investment in people who are either working in the sporting industry or want to enter the sporting industry and require this essential qualification to do so.

Eligibility: This is aimed at people operating out of Herefordshire and Worcestershire who are working in, or wanting to work in the sport or physical activity industry, or are supporting people in a volunteering role.
Applicants operating from, or living within Herefordshire and Worcestershire will be prioritised if places sell out. People from outside the region can apply if they are able to travel to and from the venue and are committed to attend, but may be placed on a waiting list if capacity is reached. You will be contacted to advise if this happens.

Places are limited so if you can commit to attending, early booking is recommended to secure your place.

Course information:

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is an Ofqual regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

Certification:
A three year qualification will be issued to those who meet the criteria of the practical assessment that will be carried out by the instructor.
The HSE strongly recommends that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours.

Cancellation:
As this course is being funded by Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire, so please only book on if you can commit to attending the session, so as not to take up a space as they are limited.

If you do need to cancel please let us know as soon as you are able, so that we can re-allocate the place.
