Facility Support

Information on guidance on reopening safely, supporting inclusivity and guidance.

The government announced their plans for the easing of restrictions, with the removal of Plan B measures, in early 2022.

Despite this, Covid-19 still remains a risk and providers of facilities should be conscious of how they can help minimise risk while delivering their services.

To support facility operators, clubs and other organisations with this, the following information is available on this page:

Guidance on Reopening Safely

Government Guidance

All official sector guidance for facility reopening is produced in accordance with national government guidance - such as that included within the safe use of multi-purpose community facilities and guidance on grassroots sport and sports facilities, available below.

Leisure Sector Guidance

UK Active continue to engage with Government and other UK sports bodies to produce practical operational guidance for facility operators to support them in operating safely.

Sport England have prepared advice on helping people to return to sport and activity, based on what they've discovered about peoples attitudes, intentions and feelings about getting back out there.

Finally, we also recommend the Stronger Together webinar recordings produced by CIMSPA, available via the link below, to help in ensuring you are fully prepared for the return of activity.

Community Facility Guidance

The Rural Community Council (Leicestershire and Rutland) have made free resources available to provide guidance on the operation of community buildings, such as village halls and community centres, during Covid-19.

Additional member resources from Rural Community Council can also be found via their pages.

Although these documents undergo updates, it is recommended that they are considered alongside the latest official Government guidance, due to the rapidly changing situation relating to the pandemic.

Additional Hygiene and Health Information

Sport England's hygiene page provides a simple overview of hygiene measure that can be implemented to reduce the risk and spread of Covid-19.

The Health and Safety Executive are asking that organisations pay particular attention to Legionella risk upon return to use of facilities and have produce guidance on managing such risks.

Supporting Inclusivity in Reopening

Activity Alliance's new guidance will help providers to enable welcoming, and more accessible environments when activities resume to ensure the benefits of reopening can be enjoyed by all.
