About British Gymnastics Together Fund
On the behalf of Sport England, British Gymnastics is offering grants up to £5,000 to clubs to support gymnasts from the most deprived areas in England whose participation has been affected by the pandemic.
The Together Fund is a continuation of Sport England's Tackling Inequalities Fund, set up in April 2020, as part of their support package to help the sport and physical activity sector through the pandemic.
What is the aim of the Together Fund?
The aim of our Together Fund is to help address inequalities linked to deprivation. We are particularly interested in applications that support gymnasts living in the most deprived areas in England, within lower socio-economic groups (LSEG).
We also want to support people with disabilities and long-term health conditions and people from diverse ethnic backgrounds that have been disproportionately impacted by Covid-19 and are likely to experience wider inequalities in accessing community sport.
We have a total of £75,000 worth of grants available to offer registered clubs in England.
While we'll prioritise funding towards clubs based in these areas in England that have over 50% of its members from LSEG, clubs interested in increasing their membership to support gymnasts in this area can also apply.
How can the funding be used?
Clubs can use our grants in a variety of ways to support the participation of identified gymnasts. This could be through:
- Paying for coach/ instructor to run a session/ series of sessions
- Paying for venue / facility hire
- Staff training
- Buying equipment
- Marketing and promotional material
