About Graduate Physical Activity Leader

ActiveHud are looking for a Graduate Physical Activity Leader with a passion for physical activity to join our team. As a GPAL you will be responsible for leading engaging social sport sessions aimed at a range of individuals from diverse communities. You will support the development of student volunteers through development plans, training and regular meetings. You will act as a keyholder responsible for opening and securing the ActiveHud facilities, as well as acting as duty manger when required. You will operate to allow ActiveHud to achieve their goal: More Students, More Active, More Often.

Focus of the role

As a Graduate Physical Activity Leader, you will work with the Workforce and Participation Manager to ensure the smooth running of inclusive and welcoming physical activity sessions through the following key responsibilities:

- Develop social sport sessions that appeal to a wide range of students from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.

- Provide support to student volunteers to allow them to achieve their leadership objectives.

- Supporting and leading on the project management for one off sporting events.

- Promote a healthy and active lifestyle through a range of promotional resources.

- A drive to support all participants on their physical activity journey and encourage those not physically active, to become active.

- Act as duty manager and provide mentorship to students.

- Work flexibly and commit to a rolling rota that will include early, middle and late shifts.

Essential criteria and qualifications

- Obtained or expected to obtain an undergraduate degree before the 1st August 2024.

- A clear ambition to work in sports and physical activity.

- Have strong and clear communication and interpersonal skills.

- Be a motivated and supportive team player able to contribute positively to the work environment.

The hours will be variable depending on operational requirements but may include early mornings and evenings.
