We are seeking four energetic and enthusiastic individuals who will support our vision to create a smoke free generation and a crucial part of this will be putting the community at the centre of everything we do. As a Live Well Engagement Advisor, you'll be instrumental in helping individuals access the right support services at the right time. Working closely with clients, health professionals, volunteers, and service providers, you'll facilitate referral opportunities into the Live Well Service. You will also be responsible for providing clients with the tools to make positive health changes, motivating them to stop smoking.

About Live Well Engagement Advisor

What you'll be doing

As a Live Well Engagement Advisor, you'll manage a caseload of clients and monitor their progress as well as make onward referrals where appropriate to support clients in further enhancing their health and wellbeing. You'll be required to deliver and engage outreach work across Leicester City with priority groups to target the most heard to reach smokers, such as, people living in deprivation areas, adults in routine and manual occupation, adults never worked or long-term unemployed and social housing.

In addition, you'll work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and be an exceptional communicator. You must be able to build relationships, prioritise your time effectively and make a positive impact on local communities to develop and implement new ideas of engagement to the stop smoking service in Live Well.

What you'll need

With previous experience working in local communities to support individuals to change their behaviour and helping them to facilitate these changes, you'll have an understanding of the national and local agenda in relation to smoking cessation and the impact of smoking on an individual's health. As well as this you must be a dedicated, organised, and reliable individual with a 'can do' attitude, with a real determination to succeed with solutions-focused outlook be able to listen and work with people in a variety of situations.

You'll need to be comfortable in connecting with the wider community and develop strong partnerships across the city. You will need to be able to listen, gather the views of local people, and feed these back into our wider programme of work. With a mature and calm manner, you'll be able to prioritise tasks, work under pressure to meet set objectives.

You'll have NCSCT (National Centre for Smoking Cessation & Training - Knowledge and Skills) programme completed OR a willingness to complete this within 1 month of commencement in the post.
