PE & Sports Coach Apprenticeships

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced staff and learn the skills required to work with children by shadowing and supporting; enhancing your sport delivery techniques and knowledge. You will also have the opportunity to share your own ideas and creativity to enrich the offering.

Duties

· Work alongside coaches and teachers to deliver fun, inclusive, and engaging PE lessons, supervising and supporting children.

· You will work 4 days a week with 1 day spent in college.

· Assisting teachers with the planning and execution of learning activities, including extra-curricular clubs.

· Providing support for student's social needs by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour.

· Work with teachers to help students gain the highest level they can by monitoring individual progress, achievements, and development.

Upon successful placement with an employer, we offer guidance on the most suitable apprenticeship for you. We can offer:

· Level 2 Community Activator Coach

· Level 3 Community Sport Health Officer

· Level 4 Sports Coach

· Have a genuine interest in PE and sport.

Career Options

Successful apprentices will be able to move onto higher apprenticeships or university. Other options include, working within PE and coaching in schools/community settings or various teaching pathways.

Entry Requirements

· Level 2: GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (desirable). If you do not have these, please still apply. For the right candidate we can offer functional skills alongside the programme.

· Level 3 and 4: GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (essential)

· Level 4: Previous experience of working with or coaching children or young people, plus a previous sport related qualification.
