Don’t be afraid to make a splash

On my recent holiday I joined my teenage children and went on a paddle board . I'm a strong swimmer and I was happy to get wet but didn't opt for the wetsuit as I didn't really think I'd get wet. I stood up briefly on the board but I was wobbly (you do need a strong core to stay standing- my kids did it with ease) but enjoyed seeing all the estuary wildlife paddling on my knees/ sitting.
my son encouraged me to try to stand up again, but my brain was telling me I couldn't do it! I kept resisting but then with My sons and daughters encouragement I did attempt to stand again - splash ! I went in.
The water was warmer than the sea and I laughed and laughed, my husband missed the fall but was there at the side to take a photo of me once back on the paddle board. I'm So glad I did this activity and I am determined to work on getting myself strong so next time i will be standing.
have a go at something new this summer
