Mighty Hike

I've taken part in 4 Mighty Hikes and I have just completed my 5th. 26 miles in the gorgeous Lake District. I'm proud to say that each year my times have decreased. This isn't down to walking many hikes for training, this has been down to improving my own health and fitness. Through fitness classes and walking around the local area.

I really do enjoy taking part. The sense of achievement you have when you complete is amazing. There are a range of courses you can do and you can also take on the half marathons. I look forward to this challenge every year and even though the weather was not that kind this year, it didn't dampen any spirits.

To see my times decrease over the last few years has been amazing. I completed the 26 miles in 9 hours and 10 minutes. This goes to show that being more active can have a huge impact on everything. I really enjoy having something to aim for each year. It can help with mental health to aim for something it doesn't have to be huge but it can help focus you with any exercise you decide to take on. It really is amazing the impact that exercise can have. Something that is little and often can make a huge difference to yourself physically and mentally.
