Clara from North West Leicestershire
Clara has been dancing regularly since she was three years old, with her favourite style of dance being ballet. Clara loves dancing because she can be active with her friends. Dancing has taught Clara multiple life skills, such as self-discipline, respect, resilience and having a positive self-image.
At school, Clara has just become a Play Coach. She sets up and manages lunchtime games to help other children be active. She enjoys the responsibility of being in charge, and it makes her happy seeing other children enjoying their lunchtime because of something she's done. Being a Play Coach has helped Clara improve her confidence in speaking to other people.
Clara has previously represented her junior school in the girls relay team for her year group, winning a silver medal in the process. She is now looking forward to being part of the schools Sport Hall Athletics team.
Clara volunteers most weeks at parkrun with her sister and dad, Andrew. She loves being outdoors, cheering on the runners and walkers that take part each week.
Clara's advice to others is to try something new, because you never know what you'll enjoy.
