Nafeesa from Oadby & Wigston
Nafeesa runs a local walking softball/cricket group in Oadby for other ladies. What started as just a group of 3 ladies in October 2023, has grownand increased to around 12-15 ladies per week.
The group initially started as just sporting activities, but has now created a bond between the participants to meet on social occasions too. Some of the women that attend struggle with mental health issues, and use the group as a way to improve their wellbeing.
Nafeesa is a mother of 2, and has a great relationship and connection with the group members, and would like to showcase the opportunity for other women in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland to get involved and join the fun!

Softball is a direct descendant of Baseball, only the ball is bigger.
Cricket is a team activity that requires you to score as many runs as possible whilst avoiding being 'out'.
