Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport 2015/16 Annual Review
Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council have invested over 15 million pounds into the development of a brand new leisure centre for local residents. The environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art facility will feature an eight court sports hall, an enhanced gym, cafe and adventure play area plus a host of other accessible facilities. The new centre will include an eight lane 25 metre main pool and a learner pool (both with moveable floors), a separate wet play area ideal for young families plus 150 spectator seats.
The area around the new centre will be landscaped and a clear, grassed play area suitable for school and community use will be formed. Places for People Ltd were appointed to design, build and run the new centre on behalf of the Borough Council for the next 20 years.
The new facility is the culmination of many years of hard work and planning by officers at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to improve sport and leisure services for their local community. LRS has also supported them over the last few years to secure Section 106 funding that has contributed towards the project.
"I am happy to report that the new leisure centre will be open to the public on time and on budget. We look forward to welcoming customers new and old into this facility; something that we, the community, should be really proud of." Councillor Roberts, Executive Lead for Culture & Leisure, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council
