Free holiday clubs in Leicestershire over the festive break

The scheme is part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme and is co-ordinated by Leicestershire County Council thanks to funding from the Department for Education.

Sessions are held at venues across the county by schools, voluntary and community organisations, childcare providers and sports clubs and will include festive fun and games, arts and crafts, sports, dance, music and trips, alongside a nutritious meal.

Parents and carers of eligible children will receive an e-voucher by text or email from Hello@holidayactivities.com on 8th November.

They can then visit the county's HAF page, or Active Together's website to view what activities will be on offer and how to book places.

Councillor Deborah Taylor, Leicestershire County Council lead member for children and families, said:

"HAF sessions are a great way for children to learn new skills, have fun and meet new people during the Winter break. I would encourage anyone who is eligible to have a look at what's on offer"

Geoff Maltby, Strategic Lead from Active Together adds:

"We are acutely aware that the Christmas period is even more challenging for families, so we're encouraging as many eligible families as possible to take up these fantastic free opportunities"

You can check eligibility to take part, search providers and find out how to book places using the Active Together website or the County Council website.
